Our beginner classes are perfect for those with absolutely no dance experience! Bring your two left feet and enjoy a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Dance is a fantastic way to get fit, stay active, and meet new friends. You don’t need to bring a partner, but feel free to bring one along for a fun date night!

Salsa starter course (level 1)

This is a 4-week course that turns absolute beginners into dancers! After you've tried our FREE Salsa class, it's time to learn the moves you can use to social dance at our events and parties around town.

Week 1 – Right turn and cross body lead

Week 2 – Left turn and consecutive turns

Week 3 – Walk through and revision

Week 4 – Graduation & social dancing excursion

Learn to dance salsa program (level 2)

Our ‘Learn to dance salsa’ program is a comprehensive six-month course that dives deep into various concepts each month. With flexible payment options, you can join at the beginning of any month. Throughout the program, we provide individualised feedback and training, along with access to a private group where you can ask questions and receive video demonstrations.

You’ll learn how to lead and follow, enabling you to dance confidently with anyone. Each month, you’ll explore concepts in depth and expand your repertoire with a variety of moves, allowing you to enjoy social parties while building a strong foundation to become an advanced dancer.

 

We use a structured and methodical approach to foster smooth, safe, and enjoyable social dancing. By concentrating on a specific concept each month, we ensure that you learn variations of moves, fully understand each concept, and embed the knowledge into your muscle memory.

 

You won’t just attend classes with a random practice—you’ll experience meaningful learning!

Styles of latin dance we teach

Salsa

Salsa is a vibrant dance that originated in Cuba during the early 20th century. Salsa has rich tapestry of influences, including African, Spanish and Caribbean dance. In the 1960s and 1970s, Salsa was popularised in New York City, where jazz musicians and Puerto Rican and Cuban migrants showcased their cultural heritage in dance halls and clubs, creating a dynamic fusion of styles. Today, Salsa celebrates community and cultural diversity, inviting dancers all over the world to express themselves through movement.

Bachata

Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic in the early 20th century and is celebrated for its romantic style and sentimental lyrics, often exploring themes of love and heartbreak. In its early days, the dance faced considerable stigma and was often labelled as “forbidden,” however, in the 1980s, Bachata began to gain recognition, transitioning from the shadows into the mainstream. Today, it is appreciated for its emotional depth and vibrant movements, symbolising a journey of acceptance and cultural pride.

Sensual Bachata

We specialise in Bachata Sensual, a style of Bachata that emerged from Spain in the early 2000s and was popularised in Europe by renowned dancers Korke and Judith. It incorporates smooth flowing movements distinguished by it's body leading techniques, while still honouring its Dominican heritage. We also teach Sensual embodied dance (SED), which is not Bachata. SED is an intuitive practice that emphasises self-connection, encouraging full body awareness and sensory experiences, promoting freedom, connection and expression.
